Narrative approaches to traditional practices have been rising in what scholars call the Narrative Turn. Narrative Communication is unique in that it considers narrative impact on a practice that includes the practice of narrative.
Isn’t this what all professional communicators do?
No. Traditional communications focuses on the story being told. Narrative Communication looks asks how it was decided that that would be the story told, and the ways narrative contributed to that decision.
